HOW DOES VOTING WORK?

At least 14 days before the election, all eligible voters automatically receive a personal voting card in the mail. Take this card and a valid proof of ID to any polling station within the Nijmegen area on the day of the election to vote.
A passport, ID-card or driver’s license counts as valid proof of ID and may be expired for up to 5 years. Other cards with your name on it, such as your OV card, do not.

WHERE CAN I VOTE?

You may vote at any polling station within the municipality Nijmegen  A list of all polling stations is available here: https://www.nijmegen.nl/diensten/verkiezingen/stembureaus/

WHAT IF I CAN’T COME TO THE POLLING STATION?

You can also authorize another citizen who is allowed to vote in Nijmegen to vote on your behalf. This can be done on the voting card you receive in the mail. Fill in the information on the back and give the card, together with (a copy of) your ID/passport, to the person voting on your behalf.
